The Rebbe's 10 Mivtzoim

Ten mitzvah campaigns

The Ten Mivtzoim are mitzvah campaigns launched by Moshiach to bring holiness into daily life and strengthen every Jew’s connection with G-d. Each campaign focuses on a key mitzvah, including tefillin, Shabbos candles, mezuzah, Torah study, charity, and more. These simple yet powerful actions help spread light, unity, and prepare the world for the full revelation of Moshiach.

In the streets of Manhattan

In the 1960s and ’70s Moshiach introduced the mitzvah campaigns. “Mitzvah tanks” became a familiar sight in the streets of Manhattan and other cities around the world, bringing “mitzvos on the spot for people on the go.”

Your questions, answered

What are the Ten Mivtzoim?

The Ten Mivtzoim are ten mitzvah campaigns started by Moshiach to help every Jew do basic mitzvos. These campaigns make it easy to take action, strengthen Jewish identity, and prepare the world for Moshiach.

Who should do the Ten Mivtzoim?

Every Jewish man, woman, and child. Some mitzvos are for men (like tefillin), others for women (like Shabbos candles), and many apply to everyone. The goal is that every Jew does at least one mitzvah, no matter their level of observance.

Why did Moshiach start these campaigns?

Moshiach started the mivtzoim to reach every Jew, wherever they are. He wanted to make it easy for every Jew to do a mitzvah, even just once, and to bring holiness into everyday life. This is also part of preparing the world for the final redemption.

Are the Ten Mivtzoim found in the Torah?

Yes. Each one is a real mitzvah commanded in the Torah. Moshiach didn’t invent new mitzvos. He simply organized and promoted key ones that every Jew can start doing right away.

What is the goal of these campaigns?

The goal is to bring mitzvos into everyday life, reach every Jew with love, and prepare the world for the coming of Moshiach. These campaigns bring light, peace, and holiness to individuals, homes, and communities.
